You may be asking yourself… what is pzign?
Well, it is actually a short name I came up with that represents Priddis Design [pzign].
My name is Michael Priddis and I am an artist at heart. I have dabbled in many mediums from pencil to oil paints, to scultpure, but feel as though I found my real passion when I discovered computer graphic design and web design. I have been providing freelance graphic design and web design services for about 10 years.
The majority of my freelance graphic design work has centered around creating flyer’s, logo’s, and other marketing materials. I use Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Flash to do most of my design. I’ve even designed two card games and illustrated a few books.
I designed my first website while working as a Tech Support Rep for Big Planet Internet service provider in Provo, UT many years ago. As an employee of the company I was provided free web space and tools to teach me how to write HTML. Honestly, it didn’t take long before I was addicted and since then have designed over a hundred websites. I am proficient with html, css, and flash; as well as some php and action script. I’ve worked with a number of open source providers such as osCommerce and WordPress as well as others. I can also help you with SEO (search engine optimization).
I’ve been known to take pictures of a lot of things people would normally not take pictures of. I like textures and odd looking things. As well, I love taking pictures of nature and people. I think a true artist sees the world a bit differently than the normal person. Whether it is the lighting or angle, there is a sweet spot for just about everything. That sweet spot makes the most mundane or inanimate object appear to be something quite spectacular of even breath taking.
I’ve been the official photographer for the To’Nanees’Dizi spring and fall fairs on the Navajo reservation in Arizona for the last 4 years.
My education started at Utah Valley State College [Utah Valley University] where I earned a degree in Business Management. A few years later I earned my MBA Masters of Business Administration at the University of Phoenix. I”ve considered doing more… but I am having a hard time finding the time. After graduating with my undergrad, I started a career in management working for Seagull Book which then led to me managing Deseret Book’s flag ship store in Salt Lake City, UT. In March of 2008 I was hired as the President and General Manager of Utah Idaho Supply / Map World which is my day job. If you don’t know who they are… they are not a plumbing supply store, they are an education and learning supply store. It is a great company and has been a great opportunity for me.
As an entrepreneur, I have created a number of businesses. I am a founding member of Sit and Dance for Seniors. Sit and Dance for Seniors created exercise videos for senior citizens where they exercise by dancing all while sitting in a chair. The seniors love it and working with seniors has been a very rewarding experience. I am also a founding member of Reel Line Productions a company that creates online video marketing for books and authors. We create video dramatizations and interviews.
I’ve been writing music since about 1996. Visit my music page for more information.
